If you’re planning a destination wedding in Mexico, you’ll fall in love with Tulum instantly. This little stretch of paradise along the Riviera Maya delivers white sand beaches, lush jungle, and endless good vibes.
Hi, I’m Pala – the photographer behind Pala’s Photos & Kickassery. I shoot destination weddings all over Mexico, but Tulum holds a special place in my heart. It’s laid-back, gorgeous, and just the right amount of wild. The couples I photograph are wild and free-spirited. But, they still want a little bit of elegance for their special day.
So, if this sounds like you, I’ve got you covered. Below are my favorite Tulum wedding venues.
Tulum is one of those rare destinations that feels both luxurious and effortlessly cool. It’s perfect for all of you who want your wedding to be as fun and relaxed as your vacations. The turquoise water, boho-chic style, and eco-conscious atmosphere all create a wedding experience that feels personal and authentic.
It’s also great for Canadian couples because flights to Cancun (the nearest airport) are easy to find. From there, you can arrive in Tulum in just a short drive. Whether you want to plan a big celebration or an intimate elopement, the variety of Tulum wedding venues makes it easy to find the perfect fit.
Casa Malca is one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Tulum. It was once owned by Pablo Escobar, but don’t worry – it’s now an art-filled, design-forward boutique hotel that’s all about creativity and elegance.
The venue mixes art gallery vibes with tropical paradise. Think vibrant installations, palm-framed ocean views, and golden-hour light that makes your wedding photos look like a magazine spread. If you’re the kind of couple that loves good design, good food, and a high-end experience with personality, this is the venue for you.
Azulik is what happens when nature meets art. This is a eco-concious Tulum wedding resort with handcrafted wooden architecture and open-air spaces. It looks straight out of a dream. So if you want a more spiritual, natural feel, I can assure you that Azulik delivers an unforgettable atmosphere. It’s perfect for intimate weddings, creative souls, and anyone who loves that barefoot luxury aesthetic.
Now, keep in mind, it’s not the cheapest. However, if you want your wedding to look and feel like no one else’s, this is one of the best Tulum wedding venues.
Akiin Beach Club is a favorite for those who want that perfect mix of style and fun. It’s right on the beach, with a wide open ceremony space, palm trees, and a relaxed atmosphere. This venue is ideal if you want to keep your guests comfortable but still work within your budget. You can bring in your own decor, caterers, and DJ, which gives you total flexibility to make it your own. If your dream wedding includes dancing barefoot in the sand, Akiin Beach Club is the place for you.
If you want to keep your plans as simple as possible, Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa is a great all-inclusive Tulum wedding venue. It’s elegant, family-friendly, and offers a range of wedding packages. You can have your ceremony in the garden or on the beach, and the resort staff takes care of nearly everything, from décor to catering. It’s perfect if you have a larger guest list or you want everything in one place. While it’s more traditional than some of the boho-chic venues, Dreams Tulum gives that stress-free experience that a lot of couples need for a destination wedding in Mexico.
La Valise is a small, elegant boutique hotel with major style points. It’s one of my top picks for intimate Tulum wedding destinations. The design is minimal but sophisticated, the staff is warm and attentive, and the views? Unreal. If you’re planning something smaller but still want it to feel incredibly special, La Valise mixes privacy and luxury. You can even rent the whole property for your guests and make the weekend one long celebration.
Mahayana is a private beachfront villa perfect for couples who want full creative control. It’s eco-luxurious, beautifully designed, and ideal for intimate feels. You can decorate it your way, bring your own vendors, and not be restricted in any way. If you want your wedding to feel like a long getaway with your closest people, this is it. Think morning coffee by the ocean, sunset vows, and late-night laughter, and much more.
Finally, one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Tulum is Itzik. The vibes here are immaculate! The space is open and available for you to decorate it in any way you want. However, the reason why I love it so much is because of the gastronomical delights. The food here is a-mai-zing, so if you want it to be the star of your wedding, I’m pretty sure you’ve found your perfect venue.
I’m not just there to take photos – I want to capture your entire vibe. I focus on real moments, real emotion, and make the kind of photos that make you feel something (even years later).
I absolutely love destination weddings in Mexico, and because of that, I don’t charge any travel fees! In other words, you can bring me to Tulum and not worry about logistical costs.
You handle the party, I’ll handle the memories.
When it comes to Tulum wedding venues, there is something for every kind of couple – both for the barefoot and for the artistic. You can go big, keep it small, or create something entirely your own. The key is to find a space that fits your energy. Because when your wedding reflects who you are, every photo feels alive.
So if you want to have your destination wedding in Tulum and want photos that capture your story, do reach out. Let’s plan something amazing together. The beach, the jungle, and I are waiting.
